Paros

We welcome you to the beautiful Island of Paros, in the middle of Cyclades, with its unique architecture in which earth, sun and sea blend together.

About Paros

Paros is located in the heart of the Cyclades in the Aegean sea.
One of the top holiday destinations, each year it attracts thousands of holiday makers due to its unique traditional architecture and sandy beaches with crystal clear turquoise blue waters. Some of Paros’s highlights are its wonderful beaches but also important historical and archaeological sites, such as the Mycenaean Acropolis in Kolymbithres, the Archaeological Museum, the Ekatontapyliani church in Parikia, the Venetian castle and the folklore museum in Naoussa. Paros is renown for its top quality marble. Paros is also popular amongst wine connoisseurs, who flock the island to taste eclectic wines produced locally. The winery and tasting tour extends from Parikia to Naoussa.

Parikia is the capital and largest port on the island. It is a beautiful town with traditional white Cycladic houses and narrow cobbled streets.

Naoussa, which is located on the northern side of the island, is one of the most remarkably quaint port villages in the Mediterranean. Although it maintains its traditional character, it is a rather cosmopolitan fishing village with charming Cycladic white houses and small cobbled streets.
Paros is renowned for its delicious culinary tradition and exquisite dishes with locally sourced foods that you can enjoy in tavernas in majestic locations both by the sea side or cobbled streets.
Paros has a vibrant nightlife scene. Check out its atmospheric cafes, cocktail bars and clubs.

Beaches

The most popular beaches on the northern side of the island are Kolymbithres, Lagkeri. Monastiri and Santa Maria. If you prefer more secluded and quiet beaches, you can visit the beaches on the southern part of the island, such as Aliki and Faragga.
On the western side of the island, there are Agia Irini, Krios, Livadia, Martsello and Parasporos beaches, whereas on the eastern side you will find Ampelas, Dryos, Logaras, Molos, Piso Livadi and Pounta beaches.
Paros is the ideal place for water sports lovers, especially Windsurfing, Kitesurfing and Sailing. The most popular beaches for windsurfing are Hrisi Akti and Nea Hrisi Akti.
Hrisi Akti, being one of the most beautiful sandy beaches of the island, is ideal for learning windsurfing. Every year on Hrisi Akti beach, PWA (Professional Windsurfers Association) organizes an international windsurfing tournament. Paros is a paradise for water sport fans, as they can enjoy international water sport games.
